The Book That Answers Boxing’s Eternal Question
Who are the greatest boxers of all time? Why—and how—did they become great? Why have certain eras produced an abundance of outstanding boxing talent while others have not? Are contemporary superstars, such as Floyd Mayweather, Jr., Manny Pacquiao, Roy Jones, Jr., Mike Tyson, Lennox Lewis, Bernard Hopkins, and Oscar De La Hoya better, or worse, than their counterparts of 50 or more years ago?
A couple weeks ago, Lamar Jackson, quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, agreed to a 5-year, $260 million contract, with $185 million guaranteed. His new contract makes him the highest-paid player in the NFL. But where does Lamar rank across all sports? Let's dig in and find out!
When I hear the phrase "tell all," I imagine a recap show of a drama series on Bravo. While some athlete tell-alls are exactly that, others have no intention of throwing shade at other people. Rather, they are look backs straight from the source on what happened, why it happened, and often other details that nobody else would know.
It's for that reason that these books typically fall into one of those two categories. Some people want and love the drama; others just want the facts straight from the horse's mouth. Regardless of which camp you're in, I'm confident you'll find some of each in the list below. From inspirational sports memoirs to behind-the-scenes looks at critical games or matches, you may have a different perspective on history following some of these reads.
Boxing has a long and storied history, dating back to ancient Greece where it was a popular sport in the Olympic games. Even before that, its origins can be traced back to ancient civilizations such as Egypt and Mesopotamia, where it was practiced as a form of hand-to-hand combat and a test of strength and skill. However, it wasn't until the 18th century that boxing as we know it today began to take shape.
In today's article, we'll briefly explore the history of boxing along with some prominent controversies before introducing out top ten books on the subject.

Here are five sports books that made their way to the big screen. If you've seen/read one, I'd love to hear your take on which one was better!
Sports Biographies to Read in 2024
I've always had a fascination with people, and namely, because they're not rationale. What what one person deems as important, another laughs at. It's the difference in human personalities that make the world go round. And thus, my fascination with biographies.
