I'm a sucker for great speeches and have been fortunate to have been around some tremendous motivators, both as an athlete and as a business person. Some people just have that "it" factor that draws your attention. Some are tremendous motivators; others make the complex simple. The beauty of speaking is that there is no "right way" to do it. As someone that's both played high-level sports and coached a lot of youth teams, convincing a team that they are capable of more is one of the great gifts that a coach can give their players. We previously wrote about some of the best motivational speeches for coaches. Today, we're going to focus specifically on football. For one, there have been some tremendous football speeches that are worth a few minutes of your day. Most importantly, though, these speeches should all move us to do something. If you're a coach, think about what you can take from these speeches. Is it the messages? The presentation style? The energy? If you're a player, think about how you translate a short-term burst of motivation into a consistent discipline. All of us will watch one of these videos and be motivated to go run through a wall. But what happens two hours from now? What happens tomorrow when that speech is long gone? Think about how you can awaken that spirit inside of you and then continue to feed it. The Best Football Motivational SpeechesFor today's article, I'm going to focus on speeches from movies and professional speakers. Sure, these are scripted. But, they're also a demonstration of what "great" can look like. When we put our expectations up a little higher, we naturally become something more. Instead of trying to emulate someone that's pretty good at what they do, try to emulate someone that you think is the best. You may not ever be as good as them, but you sure as hell won't regret trying. Are you lifting people up? Are you challenging them to become more? Or, are you the person that sucks the energy out of the room, that lowers the expectations, or keeps things status quo?
