Football Book ReviewA little less than a week from today, the Chiefs and Eagles will face off in the NFL's 57th Super Bowl. Jalen Hurts leads a powerful Philly offense against Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. To win a championship in any sports requires a lot of pieces to fall into place. Football, in particular, is challenging given the large roster sizes and physical nature of the game. An injury or two can often derail even the best teams.
I like this book because Bill Polian actually constructed a Super Bowl champion roster with the Indianapolis Colts in 2006. The eight years before that, Bill drafted Peyton Manning with the #1 overall pick in the draft. Four years later, he hired head coach, Tony Dungy. A lot of people can talk about it; Bill's done it. To his credit, he brings in several legendary names, including Bill Parcells, Marv Levy, and Art Rooney II to talk about their philosophies and how they differed from his own. This is a fun football read for any fan, but in particular, the arm-chair GM's will enjoy this one because there's a lot of things behind the scenes that most fans never think about.
